Today we removed a standard set of old outdated small glass doors for a client and installed new proper size beautiful glass doors with sliding mesh screens. Here we show how we did that and how much better the fireplace looks with the new doors.
the old doors.. the glass panel slide left but did not allow for a nice full open view of gas logs.
closer shot of old doors.. there is no mesh screen on the old doors.
With old doors removed the fireplace is quite large
New doors out of box and standing in front for test fit.. Looks good so now on to installing mounting hardward and clamp
all mounting hardware installed and door are in place.
this door kit is a gun metal bronze look with added copper trim. You can see the different door handles. The round handles are standard on the doors and the bit larger copper looking one came with trim kit.. I installed the new one so client could pick the one she likes which was the standard round handle.
installing screen mesh on rods we removed from new doors.
Mesh screen installed shown pull 1/4 way on left and fully pulled on right. Doors are open.
Finished deal.. notice there is no metal trim on glass.. just top and bottom plus the door are only hindged on one spot allow for full swing and 180 opening.. this is called the full view look and its nice..
